Ambiorix Art Salon

Where culture shapes how we see the world

“Art is a shared experience.” — Mark Rothko

At the crossroads of ideas, influence and imagination, Ambiorix Center introduces Ambiorix Art Salon — a space where art enters into direct conversation with the forces shaping our societies.

Conceived as a place for discovery and exchange, the Salon brings together emerging and established artists whose work questions perception, shifts perspectives and encourages reflection.

In collaboration with leading galleries, collectors and cultural actors across Europe, each exhibition is approached as both an intellectual and sensory experience — one that resonates with the wider dynamics of our time.

Through guided visits and informal conversations, visitors are invited to look more closely: to understand the intention behind the works, to situate them within artistic and historical contexts, and to consider their relevance to today’s societal questions.

At Ambiorix Center, art is not an accessory. It is a catalyst — a way of opening up questions, of making sense of complexity, and of shaping how we see the world.

With this programme, Ambiorix Center creates a space where creativity does not simply follow change, but quietly drives it.

Where culture shapes how we see the world.

You are warmly invited to an evening hosted by Romani Design and Ambiorix Art Salon. We will discuss Roma culture, a centuries old European heritage, lived across borders without a single home country, and what this means today for culture, policy and identity.

A curated Romani Design spring pop up will be presented throughout the evening, alongside music. Informal setting, with space for exchange.

Conventional

The exhibition explores the construction of “normality” in societies shaped by transition and influence. Drawing on the visual language, it reveals how identities, behaviours and aspirations are subtly formed by external narratives.

Through staged and carefully composed imagery, the works reflect the tension between appearance and reality, between individual expression and societal expectation. Figures appear both present and detached, embodying roles that feel familiar yet curiously artificial.

The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on how systems, political, economic and cultural, shape everyday life, often without being questioned. It raises the question of what is truly authentic in a world where the conventional is continuously redefined.

Ultimately, Conventional offers a quiet but powerful lens on the relationship between people and the structures that influence them, revealing the human dimension within broader societal transformation.
